MoD has promulgated DEFCON 697 and DEFSTAN 05-129 for the purposes of CONDO which will be included in all contracts that have any actual or potential requirement for the presence of contractors, sub contractors and their employees in a Joint Operations Area (JOA). The Vice-Chief of the Defence Staff (VCDS) issued a directive to Commanders in Chief (CinCs) and Defence Estates in August 08 directing that DEFCON 697 must be incorporated in all contracts where a civilian contractor was deployed by the MOD outside the British Isles.
Supported by the DMA and the Industry Commercial Group and leading on from the CONDO Commercial and Legal Workshops run in 2006, 07 and 08, the DMA CONDO Consultant is organising these CONDO Workshop in association with ArmorGroup, Control Risks, Number One Health Group Ltd, KBR and Integro Insurance Brokers Ltd.
The MoD (Defence Supply Chain Operations and Movements (DSCOM), DE&S) will attend the Workshop to provide a MoD perspective and to answer any specific operational deployment-related questions.
