Private Military Security Companies (PMSC)
"For the purposes of UK Government policy, it has been agreed that the term PMSC should apply to the full range of companies involved in the supply of discreet security, defence and military services, including the provision of support and training to commercial and public sector interests" - UK Joint Doctrine Note
In support of CSO, CONDO and SR, Private Military and Security Companies can provide a broad range of services:
- Training - PMSCs, amongst other companies, are able to provide CONDO pre-deployment training for contractors' employees.
- Risk Analysis - PMSCs provide CONDO regional, JOA and area-specific risk analysis services.
- Intelligence and Research - PMSCs have the ability, through a global network of companies and offices, to provide tailored intelligence and research services.
- Corporate Tracker and Insurance Services - based on risk analysis and intelligence work, PMSCs can provide a global threat awareness and assessment programme for CONDO Personnel, including provision and execution of an extraction plan.
- Close Protection - potentially armed, PMSCs offer close-protection services for CONDO tasks and personnel, equipment and infrastructure and military camps. PMSCs also provide convoy protection along main supply routes (MSRs).
